The Weeknd and Daft Punk are set to perform together at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards, the Recording Academy announced today.
Daft Punk never had a tour for their 2013 Grammy-dominating album Random Access Memories, so this will be the French duo’s first live performance since their appearance at the 2014 Grammys.
This year’s Grammy ceremony will broadcast live from Los Angeles’ Staples Center at 20:00 Eastern time on February 12th. You can watch it on CBS in North America.
As we’re sure you’re aware, Abel and Daft Punk collaborated on two tracks from his latest hit album Starboy: the title track and “I Feel It Coming”.
As Starboy was released after this year’s Grammy deadline, The Weeknd isn’t eligible for any album-based awards, but is nominated as a contributor to Beyoncé’s Lemonade after the pair worked together on the track “6 Inch”. Daft Punk are not up for any awards this year.
Also announced today for this year’s Grammys are performances from A Tribe Called Quest, Anderson .Paak, and Dave Grohl, as well as Alicia Keys and Maren Morris. Previously announced performers include Adele, Bruno Mars, Metallica, John Legend, Carrie Underwood, and Keith Urban. The show will be hosted by British talk-show host James Corden.
