Ahead of the release of his upcoming debut album FREE 6LACK, the Atlanta singer has dropped a hot new track covering The Weeknd’s House of Balloons classic “Wicked Games“.
Likely a teaser for his new album, 6LACK hops onto the iconic “Wicked Games” beat to air out his frustrations about an ex.
Valentine references a few lyrics from the original too. The second verse kicks off with:
It’s sad to say I had to leave my girl back home
She tripping, I don’t think that I could love her no more
This is a direct reference to the first verse of “Wicked Games” where The Weeknd hits out with:
I left my girl back home
I don’t love her no more
Similarly, the outro to “Just in Time 4 the Weekend” draws a lot of inspiration from the hook of the original.
